I just completed my 3rd army reservist cycle, last week. Toiling with my heavy fieldpacks, SBO and helmet, off I went to Jurong camp for my 1 week training.
Each year, we will be called up for in-camp-training to maintain our individual proficiency as well as to build unit cohesion. Such training ensures the highest level of operational readiness in the Singapore Armed Forces.
Of course, subjecting ourselves to regimental lifestyle, is one that is EXTREMELY challenging. Nevertheless, knowing that we are doing our part to defend this beautiful country, is a comforting notion to our mind.
Till date, after travelling around the world, I dare say that Singapore is the safest country in the world to live in. It is a good place to work, or to do business. Our government is stable, economics is sound, infrastructure is transparent and security is tight.
I love my country! Happy 48th Birthday Singapore! 🙂
