How To Avoid Killing Your Passion Half Way?

How To Avoid Killing Your Passion Half Way?

Fridays’ Miscellaneous Post
Today’s topic is something light…. but profound. 🙂

passion

I will like to talk to you about passion. Have you every tried doing something, you think you like doing and then later, you begin to question yourself,

Why am I doing this?

Why am I doing that?

Whats the intrinsic objective for me to do this?

Whats the intrinsic objective for me to do that?

What do I gain from here? Why am I putting in so much? Why…? Why? Why?  Why?  Why?  Why? Why?

Well… Today, I am going to let you, a little secret out. You see, the magic word of maintaining your passion, is to “outsource”.

Example: I am a financial associate. You see me talking about insurance, savings and investment because that is my core expertise.

I enjoy talking about making money in stocks, making money by investing in funds, having adequate insurance coverage for families, because that is my passion.

I can do it all day long, tirelessly because why? Because all that is my PASSION!

So…Does passion lasts forever? The answer is NO!!!!! You have to maintain it!

Now, what is the NUMBER 1 unwanted element  in my perspective, that can KILL your passion?

The number 1 element that can KILL YOUR PASSION is trying to do everything yourself.

Yes…. When you try to do everything yourself, you are not cutting cost. You are increasing your opportunity cost of adding value to your business. Worst, if you do things that you are not….really passionate about, and mixed it up with doing things that you are so passionate with, the “why am I doing this question” will crop out…

As I progress with my financial planning business, there will be a lot of things that I will outsource. I am going for lots of seminars that is relevant to the “expansion phase” of my business, so when it comes to the “implementation” of my plans, I dont have to do all the “thinking” alone.

I will have the “network” of highly qualified individuals who are very, very passionate in their subject matter to assist me.

… and guess what happens when a group of highly passionate people work together? Valuable results ensued!

So, friends…I leave the small token of my well-guarded insider tips here. If you want, to maintain your passion, OUTSOURCE! 🙂

The Way We Communicate With Ourselves Influence Our Thoughts and Thus Our Actions…

The Way We Communicate With Ourselves Influence Our Thoughts and Thus Our Actions…

Mondays’ Motivational Post

Words are powerful.

You see. We communicate with ourselves using millions of words subconsciously, at high intensive speed, all the time.

You may realize it, or you may not.

One of the key fundamentals that I always share with many, is words play a part in shaping our thoughts and thus the actions, we took.

words

Take a look at how Barack Obama with his style and eloquence, coupled by his carefully craft choice of powerful and purposeful words, manage to move ordinary Americans in numbers that many would have just imagine, to CHANGE for the better.

Words inspire people including YOURSELF. 🙂

We can. … and we will perform our daily tasks effortlessly, if we CHOOSE to use positive words to communicate with ourselves.

One strategy, that I advocate, for one to motivate him or herself is by reading books that is peppered with motivational quotes, insights, just like in this video.

You will feel refreshed! 🙂

7 Habits Of Highly Effective People…

7 Habits Of Highly Effective People…

Monday’s Motivational Post

Currently, I am super engrossed in reading 2 books.

1) Master Your Mind, Design Your Destiny by Adam Khoo

I completed all the exercises in the book, on Goal Settings etc2, 3 years ago, and happened to flip back through the pages of the book, few days back.

effective

Boy…. I was really amazed by the power of goal settings. Everything….I mean all the goals, I written down 3 years ago, prior to army… I have achieved it TODAY!!! 🙂

I almost forgot all the goals that I have set that time….. and when I reflect back on what I have written, 3 years ago, I feel sooo…. GOOD!

You know….I feel so excited!!! So fulfilled. I cannot describe the feelings in words. It just boils up to one thing, that EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!

As I wrote all the goals in pencil that time, I erase them all now, and replace it with the goals that I want to achieve in year 2009, 2010 and so forth. I am soooo……excited….. 🙂

2) 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People

I am rather a bookworm. You know, I have hundreds of books in my room.

Sometimes, I buy the books and then, I dont read. kinda wasted right

Now, I slowly go through all the books that I have, and read this book by Stephen R. Covey, 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People.

I am still at the beginning page, and what profoundly struck me is this sentence at page 73 of the book.

“Our most difficult experiences become the crucibles that forge our character and develop the internal powers, the freedom to handle difficult circumstances in the future and to inspire others to do as well“…

I believe, all of us faced difficult experiences in every phase of our life. unless you are dead These difficult experiences may hinder us from moving forward OR may develop us into a more stronger person in the future.

It is our CHOICE to choose, how to response to these difficult experiences.

Building a solid character involves doing something out of our comfort zone. Setting high goals and working unwaveringly towards it. When we faced difficult situations, we tried to overcome and solve it. The experiences only makes us STRONGER and WISER.

So…when you faced difficult situations at times, just remember, these experiences will mould you to be a better person in the future! Insyallah! 🙂

NEVER…NEVER…NEVER…GIVE UP!

One day Winston Churchill, the Prime Minister of England was invited to address the graduating class at Oxford University.

Sir Winston Churchill was seated at the head table, dressed in his formal wear – top hat, cane and cigar.

When he was introduced to speak, he walked to the podium.

Grabbing the lectern in both hands, he paused for a moment and looked at the audience.

He continued looking at the crowd for about 30 seconds and then said, “Never, never, never give up!”

Then another long paused, and with even greater emphasis, he repeated, “Never, never, never give up!” He stared at the audience for a few more seconds and sat down.

SUCCESS PRINCIPLES

This is undoubtedly the shortest major address in history.

It is also one of the most meaningful.

If we only appreciate the fact that a lot of people could have succeeded in their endeavors should they just hang on to it for a little while longer!

Develop the habit of persistency.

Copywriting Seminar Conducted By Fadzuli…..

Yesterday, I went for the copywriting seminar conducted by Fadzuli, and boyyy…. it’s enlightening and very refreshing…. 🙂

Get to network with common minded Melayus like Suryadi, Syah, Badawi, Nawaz, Fahim, Melindah and many, more others… Its sooooo….gerek… hahahhhh…

It’s some kind like “law of attraction” these days that, generous people who shares the same passion, keep attracting to me, all the time….

Bro Hafihz, who is a genius in marketing, helped me in the restructuring of my whole blog and change my deep rooted concept and understanding on using the internet to better market and position myself, as a financial associate in Singapore.

Bro Samson, who is a Certified NLP trainer, helped me to reignite my passion and reinforce my belief that all things are possible.

Not forgetting, Abang Abu, with his never ending quest to help the Malay community transform into an exemplary ummah that many will be proud of.

Of course, there are many whom I love to meet in the future like Saiful, Diana Sabrain and many, many more successful entrepreneurs out there 🙂

……………………………….

Alhamdulillah….

The seminar just comes at the right timing, as I am drafting my first book, “33 Common Questions, People Asked Me As A Financial Associate”. heheh…can steal some ideas to make my book interesting

In this very post that you are reading now, I will share with you the gist of wisdom, I manage to uncover while attending the mini workshop.

Actually, there’s a lot to be shared, but I prefer to concentrate on one…as the post might get very lengthy. 😛

First and foremost, Fadzuli shared that copywriting is the art of WRITING that enables reader’s mind to think and TRIGGER responses.

Different people have different TRIGGER points.

You have different TRIGGER points.

I have different TRIGGER points.

Everyone has different TRIGGER points.

The 8 Most COMMON TRIGGER POINTS are

1) Specificity

When you are specific, you increase believability.

Specifics carry more weight with your prospects.

Things like “I am a financial associate.”

“I am 23 years old.”

“I live in Singapore.”

All these, are specifics, that increase believability.

………………………..
2) Curiosity

Curiosity kills the cat but makes the marketer, a lot of money.

I love to create suspense and make people curious of my no hold bar frank opinion of life, when I post in this blog.

That is why you still continue to read and revisit my blog again and again. even though some detest with my opinions

……………………………
3) Reason WHY

Telling people the reason WHY YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING is one of the most powerful
influencers of human behavior.

Robert Cialdini, Ph.D. in his book “Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion” talks
about an experiment by Harvard social psychologist, Ellen Langer, that concluded
people like to have a reason for what they do.

My manager is a very good motivator.

She loves to say, “Helmi, you must do this because….
because….”

A lot of reasons created, that will propelled me to strive to achieve my goals.

………………………..
4) Scarcity

When you don’t have many of it, people tend to want it.

So when you want to offer something to readers of your blog, make it scarce. 🙂

………………………..
5) Fear

This is my own interpretation. When people fear of something, they will act IMMEDIATELY.

Example, one who is diagnose with heart problem, will IMMEDIATELY quit smoking, or maintain a healthy lifestyle, because they FEAR of the worst.

……………………….
6) Enthusiasm

Enthusiasm is contagious.

I guess, some people just act on what you propose, if they see you, so enthusiastic in what you propose.

Yup2… Enthusiasm plays a role. 🙂

……………………………………………..
7) TELLING THE TRUTH

I find this relevant.

When I asked the top 1% of financial advisers in Singapore, on what makes them so successful.

They just told me, be truthful. Just tell you clients, the truth.

……………………………..
8) Relations
When you mention names, it triggers the related party minds..hahahhh…I did mentioned names in this post right? 😛

Sometimes,my blog post remits unwanted responses, even i don’t mention names. who eat chili, they will feel the heat

I will like to thank Bro Fadzuli again for his sharing and hope, you, readers learn a thing or 2 in this post. :)
